From
President Charles Caudill |
Throughout
the world, there are constant threats of violence and political, religious and
economic upheaval. Though trying times evoke common themes throughout all
countries - isolation, despair, guilt, bitterness, denial - a more important
theme is apparent. A search for meaning in life, for a relationship with God, a
search to know His plan and will. It is our hope that, as people become
reconciled with God, we may then see a reconciliation between humans, nations,
the world.
World Christian
Broadcasting, the organization that owns and operates station KNLS, was created
as a response to that need. World Christian Broadcasting is a non-profit
organization made up of concerned Christians whose sole purpose is to take God's
Word to people who may have no other means of hearing the Good News.
The message of God is
relevant to all time. Yet how that message is received is ever-changing. To make
a difference, the treatment and delivery of the message must be current. As the
world continues to change, we at World Christian Broadcasting want to keep
touching lives. Communicating through our international short wave radio station
KNLS located at the top of the world in Anchor Point, Alaska, World Christian
Broadcasting is expanding its scope to include communication through print media
(newsletters, publications, books), video, audio cassette distribution and
expanded English language services.
Concentrating on highly
populated areas such as China and Russia, the words of World Christian
Broadcasting also reach into more remote regions such as Somoa, Tasmania, and
the Solomon Islands, reaching thousands daily. By speaking in their own
language, forming friendships, and creating a bond of trust, World Christian
Broadcasting sparks hope, interest, and curiosity among listeners - awakening in
them the desire to learn more about the promises of God.
Our audience includes
people from all walks of life, representing a variety of cultures. Our message,
therefore, is designed to meet them on a level with which they feel most
comfortable. We strive to introduce them to Christian concepts, then invite them
on a quest to find purpose in life. Once a friendship is formed, we are then
blessed with a unique opportunity to tell them "we have a Lord who is
greater than any earthly friend, and here's how you can come to know Him, as we
do."
The exciting challenge
before us is to continue to reach eager hearts with God's Word. Often deprived
of freedom in Christianity, our audience has many questions and overwhelming
heartfelt needs. We must continue to be their "Open Door" by offering
that which they most yearn for - the Word of God. Ours is a challenging
commitment, to present friendship to faces we cannot see, to answer the
spiritual needs of their hearts. It is our hope that, through programming which
encourages a search for meaning in life, spiritual reflection, cultural
understanding and personal study of Christian evidences, they will hear, perhaps
for the first time, and respond to the life-changing Good News of God.
