Dear God, we are thankful we don’t have to have fancy words. We are thankful that we don’t have to try to impress you with the words that we use. We thank you that we don’t have to pray a long time before you will want to listen to us. We are thankful to know that we don’t have to use a lot of flowery words to try to get your attention. We are thankful we can just talk to you about things that concern us about our lives. Some of us talking to you right now are concerned about some family members. Some of us praying with you are concerned about our health. Some of us have lost a job. Some of us have lost our health. Some of us have lost a dear loved one. Some of us are very sad today because we’ve lost someone we dearly love. Some of us are concerned about what we see outside our front door. Some of us all we hear is the pain and the terror and the fear of war or of being mistreated. I pray today, dear God, for people who are hungry, who are thirsty. I pray for people today who need medical care. I pray for people today who are grieving the loss of a loved one. I pray for those who are looking for answers to the problems that life has given to them. I pray for leaders of the countries of the world who have impact upon millions and millions of people. I pray for every heart of every terrorist. Help them realize the value of human life. May we raise up values that show the dignity that we should show to other human beings. Thank for hearing our prayer. We await and we are going to watch you work powerfully in our lives. May we be willing to wait on your answer which is always perfect in your time. We thank you for hearing our prayer today and we pray this through the powerful name of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Amen |
